Strategic Management Plan 2015 - 2020

The Outback Communities Authority takes great pleasure in presenting its 2015-2020 Strategic Management Plan  in accordance with the Outback Communities (Administration and Management) Act 2009.

The OCA has identified 3 key objectives it wishes to accomplish over the five years commencing 1 July 2015.  These objectives, extensively tested by public consultation  are

Grow our Economy,

Grow our Community and

Grow our Influence and Presence.

The Strategic Management Plan reflects a significant change in direction from the Authority’s inaugural 5 year strategic management plan and positions the OCA to take a greater leading role in the outback.  The Plan’s objective, Grow our Economy, talks about new opportunities and investment in the outback.  Grow our Community identifies the need to improve the wellbeing of people living, working and visiting the outback.  While Grow our Influence and Presence is all about increasing our understanding of the needs of outback people and taking the necessary action to ensure the OCA has a greater input into decisions that are being made for the outback.

This plan sets the high level objectives, goals and strategies that will enable the OCA to spearhead ongoing development in the outback and will guide it through to 2020. The 2015-2020 Strategic Management Plan  will guide the OCA’s annual business plan which will identify key performance indictors to measure how each of the objectives are to be achieved.  The annual business plan (and annual budget) is being finalised and will be available on this site soon.
